Unit Manager Nurse (RN/LPN)

Summary of Unit Manager:

Provides care to residents in accordance with care plan as directed by physician’s orders and in accordance with laws, regulations and facility guidelines

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Unit Manager: 

1.Monitors facility clinical systems to effectively facilitate quality resident care in accordance with laws, regulations and facility guidelines .

2.2. Successfully delivers basic nursing care to residents under in accordance with care plans as ordered by a physician.

3.3. Directs and develops RNs, LPNs and CNAs working on the unit to ensure the delivery of high quality care and services in accordance with all laws, regulations and guidelines.

4.4. Conducts on-going assessments of residents to identify care needs and makes needed revisions to the care plan based on changes in resident condition.

5.5. Works in conjunction with the ADON and DON to provide resolution of grievances or concerns related to resident care or family issues.

Job Requirements of Unit Manager:

Experience: Must have one to three years nursing supervisor experience in a long-term care or other health care setting; geriatrics experience preferred

  • Nurse current state license in Florida
  • Must have a current/active CPR certification.
  • Excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.
  • Approachable, flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with employees and vendors.
